Simple Reflections

This week’s Picture Challenge: Shine, reminded me of these pictures I took for two different reasons.

The first set I took after My daughter had given me a very small picture allowance so I wouldn’t spend too much time taking pictures.

This is the original. From many different angles, this picture captured its vibrant colors perfectly.

Nothing Shines Brighter than the sun. I love how Nature finds a way to reflect such brilliance in places you least expect to find it.

The Second set I took after a moment of whimsical inspiration.

Sunlight was reflecting from a tin can upon my bouquet of Daisies which were beginning to dry out. #flowers #floweroftheday #Daisies #photography #sunlight

One day, as I was passing by a dying bouquet of flowers standing by my window, I happened to notice how beautiful the flowers looked even after they were passed their prime. The Sun was reflecting light on them from a tin can close by. After doing a double take where at first I had ignored them. I couldn’t resist capturing their striking beauty as their petals drooped gracefully and their color complemented perfectly the reflected light of the sun that illuminated them.

  1. The flower in the last photo looks like it’s head is bowed in prayer. Great use of available light in this series.

    • Thank you. If only light would mold to fit all of our pictures, right?
The whole series of pictures seemed to me at the time as if they were walking sorrowfully away from a wedding.
