The things that we capture in the background of our pictures can be quite surprising at times. We are so focused on the person or object we wan to feature in our image that we tend to overlook amazing details that many times turn out to be priceless. In this particular occasion, taking random pictures at my Girl Scout’s holiday party last year I noticed that a familiar stranger stood in the background of many of those pictures. I’ve never met Santa Clause in person before, but I thought it was a wonderful gesture of kindness for him to show up at our party.
I wonder what the Mrs. told her husband Santa in order to make him attend our party in such a busy time as it is in the North Pole. With all the presents yet to be built and last minute preparations to the approaching Christmas celebration, I imagine it was a great friendship to one of the scout moms that allowed for an impromptu visit to our party from Santa Clause himself.
Although I didn’t speak with him directly, I was surprised to see him featured in almost all the pictures I took that evening. He seemed very cheerful and happy and the girls were ecstatic to tell Santa in person what they wanted to get for Christmas. Well, who doesn’t want to take a brake from a hectic work season to attend a party? I don’t even know what makes me think it was his wife who prompted Mr. Clause to attend, maybe he realized he didn’t have a complete list of kids and wanted to make sure all of our girls were included. Maybe he thought of upgrading his present list with better rewards for such dedicated and hard working little girls as they were in our troop. Whatever the reason, everyone had a great time and I don’t doubt that Mr. Clause extended his evening with other activities on his way back home.
